Connect Yorkshire Terms and Conditions

1. Connect Yorkshire reserves the right to reject a membership application and/or terminate a membership for any reason it deems appropriate. The applicant will be notified of such a decision in writing and your membership fee, less the pro rata amount for the period you have been a member, will be refunded within 28 days of the decision. Your membership of Connect Yorkshire is for 12 months from the date of signature on this form or the date of your email confirming you wish to join and you are not entitled to cancel the agreement after it has been signed or confirmed.

2. Applicants must ensure that all information provided is, to the best of their knowledge, complete and accurate at the date of application. Where false or misleading information is provided, Connect Yorkshire reserves the right to terminate membership without refund.

3. During the course of membership you may be required to provide such information about your company that Connect Yorkshire reasonably requests.

4. Neither you nor your company shall at any time be obliged to act on any information, suggestion, advice or guidance given by or on behalf of Connect Yorkshire or by the Entrepreneurs in Residence(“EIRs”) or by any other person or company providing help or advice to the members of Connect Yorkshire as part of the services (“the Advisers”), but if and to the extent that it does so, it shall do so at its own risk. You and your company hereby unconditionally and irrevocably waive any rights of action you or it may have against Connect Yorkshire and the Advisers in relation to any such information, suggestions, advice or guidance.

5. You and your company are advised that you or it may need to take independent financial, legal or other appropriate professional advice in addition to or before acting on information, suggestion, advice or guidance given by Connect Yorkshire or the Advisers.

6. Neither Connect Yorkshire nor the Advisers will be liable to you, your company or to any third party for any loss, damage, costs or liabilities suffered as a result of your membership of Connect Yorkshire or as a result of any information, suggestion, advice or guidance given by or on behalf of the Advisers. Nothing in this clause shall limit or exclude any liability for death or personal injury, or which results from fraud.

7. Connect Yorkshire, you and your company shall be free to publicise your membership of Connect Yorkshire.

8. All parties will keep in strict confidence all and any information of a confidential nature which it obtains about either of the other parties as a result of the arrangements contemplated by this agreement. This clause shall not apply in relation to any information that is already available in the public domain other than as a result of a breach of this clause by any party. Notwithstanding the provisions of this clause, Connect Yorkshire shall be free to pass information about you to the Partners of Connect Yorkshire on the basis that the Partner shall keep the information confidential.

9. You must have been a member of Connect Yorkshire for at least three months before you are entitled to a Springboard Mentoring session. These services can take up to two months to organise depending on the availability of the Entrepreneurs in Residence. You are only entitled to one Springboard Mentoring session per each year of your membership and you are not entitled to carry forward any unused Springboard to another year.

10. The Access to Funding service is an introductory service only and no extra charges will be made by us if you succeed in raising funding from one of our EIRs. We shall not be responsible for the actions or conduct of or failure to act or decisions of an EIR in relation to you/your company.
