“Let’s not get emotional about it” - How to think clearly when under pressure
Venue: Bowcliffe Hall, Bramham, Wetherby, LS23 6LP
Speaker: Glenn Mead, Face Value Performance

We all make decisions all the time: the majority of them are instantaneous, unconscious and based on our survival needs. We are quick at taking things at face value.

These powerful first impressions can lead us to make decisions that are out-of-perspective and probably unhelpful - decisions about other people, the situations we find ourselves in, and decisions about ourselves. We can become led by emotions rather than guided by facts.

In this session, you’ll learn why your first reaction will always be an emotional-thinking one, and how to make better decisions by asking questions that put things into perspective.

Speaker bio:
Glenn Mead runs Face Value Performance Psychology Limited, which specialises in helping individuals and teams to maximise their potential by making better decisions.

Glenn’s interest in people development and organisational performance began on a creative problem-solving course and has grown into running his own business, applying ‘what if’ questions to identify and shape the mindsets individuals and teams need to help them achieve their potential.

Glenn’s background is in coaching and facilitation, with particular interest in leadership, stress and resilience in the workplace. With masters-level qualifications in occupational psychology, executive coaching and business management, he has over 20 years’ performance improvement experience, beginning as a commissioned officer in the British Army, followed by roles with Ernst & Young and Accenture.
