Carpets to computers, the journey of Stephen O’Brien
Venue: Carrwood Park, Selby Road, Leeds, LS15 4LG
Speaker: Stephen O'Brien, CEO of Pure Technology Group

Come and hear Stephen O’Brien’s story of how he went from selling carpets as a 16 year old, to the CEO of one of the leading providers of ICT services and solutions in the country. Stephen will discuss the challenges he's faced along the way, and how he overcame them to grow pure technology group to the company it is today.

During the masterclass, you’ll hear about Stephen’s work ethic, and some of the pitfalls of running a multi-million pound business, whilst having the opportunity to ask questions and learn from his experiences.

Energised by the buzz of selling, Stephen moved onto an organisation in Bradford selling fax and telex rolls. Seven years in, and with a passion to get better, earn more money, build a future, Stephen joined QC Supplies Limited, selling computer supplies, building a team. When he left that business seven years later, it had a revenue of £15m, employing more than 130 people.

In 1999, Stephen was headhunted by a French organisation who were looking to get a footprint in the UK. Stephen took on the challenge and grew this start up business from zero to £9m over the 5 years he was there. Then came Pure Data Solutions Limited, which was set up by Stephen in May 2007. It is now a £30m+ technology business, with 3 business units throughout the UK, employing over 135 people, the goal is to be at £50m by May 2021.
